Clarification reg. holding window period post 00:00 hrs of 13.04.2020 by Port/Terminals for allowing delivery of DPD-DPD containers

Subject: Clarification reg. holding window period post 00:00 hrs of 13.04.2020 by Port/Terminals for allowing delivery of DPD-DPD containers to importers at Port / Terminal gates: Reg:

Dear Member,

We would like to inform you that JNCH Customs has issued a clarification vide Public Notice No. 52/2020 dated 10th April, 2020 regarding holding window period post 00:00 hrs of 13.04.2020 by Port/Terminals for allowing delivery of DPD-DPD containers to importers at Port / Terminal gates. Your kind attention is invited to Public Notice Nos. 48/2020 dated 8th April, 2020 and 51/2020 dated 9th April, 2020 issued, inter alia, so as to keep speedy evacuation of DPD-DPD containers with rail facility and last mile connectivity by road by CONCOR, and whereby the DPD-DPD procedure stands temporarily revised.

A query has been received whether after 00:00 hrs of 13th April, 2020, the window of minimum 48 hours presently available to DPD-DPD client for taking delivery of its DPD-DPD containers from Port/Terminal gate shall continue to be available.

In this connection, it may be informed that -

1. The said Public Notices have been issued in advance and for making temporary change in extant procedure from a prospective date whereby the movement of DPD-DPD containers from JN Ports / Terminals to CFSs is stopped;

2. The 72-hour period specified till 00:00 hrs of 13th April, 2020 is a facilitation by way of extended window for direct delivery to importer recognizing that there is a changeover period;

3. The said PNs do not specify a stoppage of the cycle of minimum 48 hours (or other higher period specified by Port/Terminals) which Ports/Terminals provide as a window to DPD-DPD importers to take delivery at the Port/Terminal gates;

Members are requested to make a note of the above.
